SPINAL MUSCULAR ATROPHY
Maddison Brown from 6AL organised a fundraiser for Spinal Muscular Atrophy. SMA is a genetic disorder limiting mobility, amongst many other complications. Maddison organised a guessing competition, for parents, teachers and students. Maddison managed to raise $1060.00
On Monday 15th October, Helena Young (OT for Shannon and Kaitlyn Anlezark) accepted the cheque on behalf of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
A special thank you to the outstanding job Madisson Brown did organising and running this competition. We would like to express our appreciation for a job well done.

Last week, nine of our Year 6 students proudly represented OLQP at the Amity College Maths Cup. Congratulations to Ardhen, Ari, George, Isaiah, Katherine, Om, Pia, Sachi and Shrineel who displayed outstanding teamwork, determination and perseverance while tackling challenging mathematical problems, puzzles and riddles. Students described the day as intense, exciting and fun! A special thank you to Miss Lumagbas for accompanying our students, and to our wonderful parents for their support with transport. Our Lady Queen of Peace School Feast Day What a wonderful celebration of our Feast Day! The day was filled with joy, excitement, laughter, and friendship as our community came together to honour Our Lady Queen of Peace. Students enjoyed a special picnic lunch with their families, were entertained by the Snore Circus play in the hall, engaged in games on the oval, and showcased their creativity through beautiful watercolour art inspired by Our Lady. It was a special day shared by all, celebrating our faith, our community, and the charism of peace.

A big congratulations to our School Captain, Aisling, and FIAT Leader, Katherine from Year Six, who proudly represented our school last week at the Voice of Youth Cluster Final. Both students made our school incredibly proud with their outstanding speeches. We are thrilled to share that Aisling was awarded First Place and will now move on to represent our school at the Eastern Region Semi Final. We wish her all the very best as she continues her journey. We are equally as thrilled to share that Katherine received the Social Justice Award β a wonderful recognition of her passion and advocacy for neurodiversity! Well done, Aisling and Katherine!

On Monday night the Choir and Band united to hold a Creative Arts Concert for their family and friends in our new school hall. They showcased songs and displayed skills that they have developed throughout the year. Congratulations to all the performers in preparing and performing to such a large audience.
