❄️ Winter Sleepout 2025 ❄️ Last Friday, our Year 6 Faith in Action Team and staff participated in the Winter Sleepout, a powerful evening dedicated to building empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness. The night was filled with hope and compassion as students gathered in the hall for prayer and reflection. We are incredibly grateful to Fr. Paul for his presence and heartfelt leadership throughout the night. Putting their faith into action, our students made sandwiches that were delivered to the St Vincent de Paul Society to be distributed by the Vinnies Van, supporting those doing it tough in our community. This was a truly moving experience and a beautiful reminder of the strength of our Greystanes Catholic Community when we come together for a meaningful cause. 💙

Congratulations to the winners of our Winter Embrace Raffle — Antonio and Eavie! We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our school community. Together, we raised $1,556.00 through the sale of raffle tickets and $1,706.81 for the Pyjama Day Winter Appeal. Thank you once again for your wonderful support of the St Vinnies Winter Appeal — your kindness is truly making a difference.

Music Around the World This term in Music, all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 have participated in learning about music from around the world. Early in the term we enjoyed a very lively performance by Musica Viva which introduced the students to cultural music and helped to develop an enjoyment of music from various countries. Throughout the term I have shared my personal travel experiences to Vietnam, as well as teaching all students about my own cultural heritage- Lithuania. I have been so privileged to have had the opportunity to teach the dance "Sejau Ruta" which translates to "Planting Rue". The students have learnt to dance to a steady beat, perform various movements and work well in whole and small groups to perform the dance. 🎨👩🎨 Clay Creations, Round 2! 👨🎨🧱 Our second group of little artists has officially finished their clay pinch pots, and we couldn’t be more proud! 🌟 With tiny hands and big imaginations, our kindergarteners shaped, smoothed, and sculpted their very own masterpieces. 👐💫 Every pot is a reflection of creativity, patience, and joy — and we’re so excited to share them with you soon! 👏 Great job, young potters! Keep creating, keep exploring! 🧡 Thank you to our Year 6 helpers, who enjoyed some time guiding our youngsters during our sessions today!

OLQP Band Brings Home The Gold! Congratulations to the OLQP Senior Band who received a gold trophy for their performance at the Hills Band Festival on the 13th of June! The students were in a tough competition against six other schools performing at a sold out event held at the St John XXIII Catholic College Performance Hub. Their conductor Mr Slater said “the students gave their strongest performance of the year and deserve full credit after all the hard work they’ve put in!” If you’d like to see the OLQP Senior Band perform their next big public performance will be at the OLQP Festa on the 28th of September which you won’t want to miss. Look forward to seeing you there!
