With grey skies predicted all week, the boys were blessed with a fine and sunny day to showcase their rugby league skills.
OLQP had 5 teams represent the school. All the boys played extemely well and showed great sportsmanship. The under 9's did extemely well and will now progress to the next stage of the competition on Wednesday 29th June, where they will be playing for the chance to represent the Parramatta district.
The boys drew Castle Hill and Guildford in the first two rounds of the competition, and in both games they demonstrated some real team work and were rewarded with 20-0 wins in both games. The final game of the day came down to OLQP v Merrylands – both teams were undefeated at this stage, with the winning team to progress to the next round of competition.
Both teams were starting to get tired after a long day in the sun, but it was the boys from OLQP who demonstrated commitment and endurance in both defence and attack, while taking every opportunity to put points on the score board.

The season of Lent invites us to pause and reflect on the values that deepen our compassion and strengthen our shared responsibility for one another. It is a time for reflection that creates space for growth, humility that grounds us in our common humanity, self-discipline that draws us back to what truly matters, and generosity expressed through acts of compassion and kindness.17 Feb 2026

Thank you to the Parramatta Eels for visiting OLQP and speaking with our students about wellbeing. Your insights into physical and mental wellbeing were greatly valued. It was a meaningful and enriching opportunity for our school community.
