On Thursday, the 10th of September, the Year Five Debating team had the opportunity to compete in the Delany Cup Debating Grand Final.
Julia Kable, Sophia Santos, Victoria Carr and I were lucky enough to come back to school victorious, knowing that we had worked hard to win the Delany Cup.
It was a friendly debate between our school and St Margaret Mary’s; we have became close friends from the previous debates. We were pleased with the great sportsmanship shown by the girls from St Margaret Mary’s and liked the way they politely congratulated us
We would especially like to thank Mrs Dwyer, Mr Hopley and Mrs Garzaniti for supporting us during our debates. We would also like to thank the Delany Staff and students for welcoming us and holding the debate in their school. Another warm thanks to Mrs Carr and Mrs Barker for giving up their time to take some students to and from Delany College.
So now we are Delany Colleges 2015 Debating champions!! We are so proud of this achievement.

This was a reflective and meaningful experience where the year 3 students walked through the story of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. The Garden of Gethsemane was a place of great importance to Jesus, referred to in all four Gospels as a place where Christ retreated into deep prayer and a time of agony before His arrest and crucifixion.
