On Tuesday 5th May, 44 students got up bright and early to attend the Diocesan Cross Country carnival at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek. It was a long day, but thanks to the beautiful weather and excellent behaviour by all students it was also a lovely day.
All students performed to the best of their ability and did themselves and their parents very proud. 3 students ran so well that they placed in the top 8 in their age group and now get to run all over again on 12th June at the Inter-Diocesan carnival.
Kiara De Angelis placed 6th in the 10 yr girls Isaac Elias also placed 6th in the 11 yr boys and Trisha Castelino placed 2nd in the 11 yr girls. A huge congratulations to those fantastic long distance runners! We wish you all the very best for this next level of competition.
Thank you to Mrs Galea and Mrs Maunder for coming to help out on the day and congratulations once again to all our competitors for the sportsmanship you displayed both on and off the track.

We celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven. The Assumption of Mary is a Catholic doctrine of faith stating that Mary, the Mother of Jesus, was assumed (taken up) body and soul into Heaven at the end of her life. The Catholic Church celebrates this important feast day on 15 August and, in Australia, it is a Holy Day of Obligation. Feast of the Assumption Prayer O Blessed Virgin Mary, united to the victorious Christ in heaven, you are the image and first-flowering of the Church as she is to be perfected in the world to come. You shine forth as a sign of sure hope and solace for the pilgrim People of God. In your Assumption, you manifest the fullness of redemption and appear as the spotless image of the Church responding in joy to the invitation of the Bridegroom, your Son, who is the first-fruits of those who have fallen asleep. Grant that we may follow your example on earth thereby imitating your Son as well and being enabled to share your glory, with Him for all eternity. Amen. 🙏💐💖07 Aug 2026
