“Today 4JK and 5B OLQP Lightning teams headed to Homebush for the NSW Goalball for Schools Knockout Competition. Our teams represented our school so well, showing great sportsmanship and passion!
Both teams played exceptionally well, with our year 4 team winning the semi-final and then gaining a silver medal in the grand final!! We are off to State Championships in November!! What an achievement!!”

During Lent, we are reminded to reflect on the needs of others, especially those who are less fortunate. Easter is a time of hope, renewal, and generosity, and these baskets are a lovely reminder of the spirit of giving that this season calls us to embrace. As part of our Project Compassion Initiative, our FIAT leaders will be running an Easter Raffle for all OLQP students next week (wk 8). This initiative is to help raise funds for those who are less fortunate than us. Tickets will be on sale every morning from 8:25am-8:45am on Area A. Our school leaders will also be available in the Kindy Learning Street for our Kindy students to purchase tickets. Ticket prices are $2 per ticket or $10 for 6. Your support through Project Compassion will help transform lives by bringing clean water, education, healthcare and opportunities to communities facing poverty and injustice.

Year 6 students have been lucky enough to share in Miss Indira Fernandez’s fifty years of teaching experience during their clay sculpture experience. We thank Miss Fernandez for bringing her bright energy while volunteering by spending a lovely morning with half of year 6 and we look forward to her joining the other half of the grade next week! What a fun session we all had! Mrs Fenech especially enjoyed teaching alongside her high school Visual Arts teacher 🥰

The annual Easter Egg-stravaganza is back! The Pemulwuy Community Group is back in 2026 with the annual Easter Hat parade and egg hunt. This is in combination with a market event running from 9am to 3pm - lots of food trucks on offer! Dirrabarri Reserve, Pemulwuy - Next to the Tennis Court. Year 4 History Excursion Our Year 4 students enjoyed a wonderful day of learning in the city during their recent History excursion. At The Big Dig in The Rocks, students stepped back in time as they explored an authentic archaeological dig site. They examined real artefacts, listened to fascinating stories about the people who once lived in the area, and even had the opportunity to dig for artefacts themselves while practising their historical investigation skills. Students also visited the Art Gallery of New South Wales, where they explored a range of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artworks. They learned about the different techniques and mediums used by artists and took part in several hands-on art activities inspired by what they observed. It was a fantastic day of discovery, creativity and learning, and our students gained a deeper understanding of Australia’s history and culture.
