The invitation was to represent Australia at the ISKA US Open World Championships in Orlando Florida in July 2018 as part of the ISKA Australian team. The US Open is the largest martial arts tournament in the world with over 5000 competitors over 2 days with the Night of Victory (under 17 year olds) and the Night of Champions (18 years plus) broadcast on ESPN internationally.
Zane competed in 4 events. He earned a 2nd place for both clash sparring and point sparring. He also earned a 3rd place for traditional weapons and traditional forms. With up to 40 boys in his events he was faced with extremely tough competition but Zane’s hard work, training and his determination allowed him to achieve these amazing results.
Eva competed in 4 events. She earned a world title (1st place) in traditional forms and a third place in clash sparring. She also earned a world title (1st place) in creative forms which earned her a spot in the run-off, if successful she would then compete at the night of victory. She was successful in winning her run-off and had the honor of competing on the big stage. She then also proceeded to win at the Night of Victory and is the first Australian ever to win a Grand Champion trophy.
To say we are proud is an understatement. Both our kids have worked hard leading up this competition. Not only is it an honor to represent their country, but to achieve these results against the best competitors in their divisions worldwide is amazing.

Our Little Disciples lunchtime group enjoyed making decade Rosary beads while learning about the special role of Mary in our faith. Teaching children to pray the Rosary helps them grow closer to Jesus through Mary’s loving guidance and encourages a lifelong connection to prayer. We are proud of our students for embracing this beautiful Catholic tradition and deepening their faith.31 May 2026

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to her cousin Elizabeth. We all can have God in our lives if we open our hearts to the possibility, and families are an especially potent way to bring, keep, and reinforce God in our hearts. God may not be as literally present as the visitation between Mary and Elizabeth, but the essence of that reunion can still spark within us a joy and inspiration from our own families that matches Mary’s and Elizabeth’s Godly proclamations.
