Its a bird, its a plane, no, its the Sydney Harbour Bridge

On Wednesday the 2nd of April 4R and 4C went on an excursion to the Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay. Luckily it was a hot day so we didn’t get wet.

On the way to our destination we got to travel over the Harbour Bridge. Everyone screamed when they saw the city and the Opera House. We all were very exited.

Before recess we had a walk around the water and saw a man who was standing with one leg, very still like a statue. We were all so surprised!!!!

We then had recess in front of a restaurant on these chairs next to the water. We were all so lucky.

4R then went for a tour with a lady named Vicky, while 4R was gone 4C walked around Circular Quay. We saw a man who could play the didgeridoo. He encouraged some boys to have a turn too. Some girls banged some sticks together to make music with an Aboriginal man. We also saw a man covered in glitter who could sit without a chair. It was cool!!!!

At around 11:45 4C then went for a tour with a lady named Jeanette and 4R did the things 4C had finished doing. In the Opera House we got to see 3 theatres.

We saw a small room called the Play Room that could fit 300 people. We then saw the Studio. It can fit 600 people. We then saw the biggest one, which is the Joan Sutherland Theatre.

We then had lunch at the Botanic Gardens. There were lots of birds crowding around us. It was fun. We had a great day and would love to go again.

🐣✨ What a sweet success! ✨🐣 Our OLQP Easter Showbag Fundraiser was an egg-stra special hit! 💛 With so many smiling faces and excited little hands, it was wonderful to see our students enjoying their colourful showbags filled with treats. Thanks to the incredible support of our school community, we raised an amazing $1,873! 🙌🎉 Every dollar goes back into supporting our students and creating more opportunities for them. A big thank you to all the families who ordered, and our volunteers who helped organise everything🐰💐

Yesterday, Taleishah from CSPD Jarara Cultural Centre visited OLQP to yarn with some of our students. The students explored the origins of their indigenous ancestral country and family. We look forward to learning more about the Aboriginal Australian perspective alongside our Indigenous families, who are eager to share their culture with our school community.
