On Friday we had about 80 students who wanted to be eligible to go on to Zone next year attend our swimming carnival.
All students swam their best & all students eligible to go to Zone made it in the designated qualifying times. Congratulations to those students! A list of the students selected will be displayed in the office window this week. Permission notes for the carnival will be given out at the start of next year. The zone carnival is on 14th February at Parramatta Pool.
The staff at the pool complimented OLQP on our organisation & exemplary behaviour- well done everybody! A huge thank you to Mrs Khoury, Mrs Bousalim, Mrs Gatti, Mrs Shore, Mrs Calderon, Mrs Mifsud, Mrs Callaghan & Mrs Mandoukos who volunteered to give up the opportunity to just sit & watch in order to make the carnival run so smoothly & successfully. Without your help we wouldn't be able to run our carnivals & the staff & students greatly appreciate your support.

World Teachers' Day celebrations today at Our Lady Queen of Peace! π«ππβοΈβοΈππ A busy and fulfilling day for all as we enjoyed: - a morning gathering for staff - small gifts for each staff member - morning tea organised by the P&F - afternoon assembly and prayer led by Kindy. Perhaps the most surprising and entertaining part of the day though, included staff participation in the 'Have you got an apple?' game. We are sure the children can update you on the game rules as they watched their teachers play. Some tactical, creative and fierce competition was on show to secure the winning prizes! Congratulations to the following staff members who won the game (with or without bribery!) π Miss Stevens π Miss Cleur π Miss Raffoul π Mr Aboufarah π Mrs Elias π Mrs Buhagiar π Miss Chahin π Mr McElhone (unable to claim his prize so this was handed over to the most enthusiastic participant of the day, Mr Vicic). Thank you again to our P&F for generously organising the morning tea for staff and acknowledging the great work our staff do each day. It is a privilege to work in partnership with you, guiding, leading and teaching the children of OLQP. And to our teachers- Keep shining bright βοΈ β¨οΈ π

Yesterday, our students had the wonderful opportunity to experience the Musica Viva Concert, El Camino. The performance introduced students to the vibrant sounds, rhythms and traditions of South American music. They thoroughly enjoyed listening, participating and sharing in this engaging musical experience. It was a fantastic opportunity to explore music from another part of the world, broaden their cultural understanding and celebrate the joy of music together.
