On Friday we had about 80 students who wanted to be eligible to go on to Zone next year attend our swimming carnival.
All students swam their best & all students eligible to go to Zone made it in the designated qualifying times. Congratulations to those students! A list of the students selected will be displayed in the office window this week. Permission notes for the carnival will be given out at the start of next year. The zone carnival is on 14th February at Parramatta Pool.
The staff at the pool complimented OLQP on our organisation & exemplary behaviour- well done everybody! A huge thank you to Mrs Khoury, Mrs Bousalim, Mrs Gatti, Mrs Shore, Mrs Calderon, Mrs Mifsud, Mrs Callaghan & Mrs Mandoukos who volunteered to give up the opportunity to just sit & watch in order to make the carnival run so smoothly & successfully. Without your help we wouldn't be able to run our carnivals & the staff & students greatly appreciate your support.
Macquarie was our Champion Colour House & Lawson won the Spirit award.
Our Age Champions were: Junior Boys- Isaac Farrugia & Jarod Sorensen Junior Girls- Sanya Joseph 11 yr Boys- Scott Meredith 11 yr Girls- Julia Tandog Senior Boys- Jack Meredith Senior Girls- Breeanah Khoury
Runners Up were: Junior Boys- Blake Meredith Junior Girls- Chiara Borthwick 11 yr Boys- Liam Sherry 11 yr Girls- Jaime Shore Senior Boys- Michael Denniss Senior Girls- Hope Cini.
From all accounts the students who remained at school thoroughly enjoyed their water fun day- having a great time playing in the water in the beautiful weather. A successful day for all!

Today we celebrate the Feast Day of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop St Mary MacKillop is Australia’s first saint and a wonderful example of courage, kindness, and deep faith. She dedicated her life to educating children, especially those in rural and disadvantaged communities, and reminded us to “never see a need without doing something about it.” On this special day, we remember her commitment to compassion, service, and perseverance, and we pray that we too may follow her example in caring for others and living with hope and generosity. Today, Year 1 had a fun filled Art incursion where they manipulated clay to create a Kangaroo Tile. The students had a wonderful time and have created an art piece which they will bring home later in the week.

Our Year 2 students had an exciting day out at Lizard Log in Western Sydney Parklands on Thursday last week ! A little bit of rain didn’t stop us, it just added to the adventure. Surrounded by beautiful bushland, students explored nature, took part in fun hands-on activities, and learned about the world around them. From discovering plants and animals to asking big geography questions, everyone had a fantastic time while developing important skills. A big thank you to our wonderful teachers and parent helpers who came along and made the day so special, we couldn’t have done it without you!

Today Year 4 braved the cold, rainy weather to explore Berry Island Reserve at Wollstonecraft. This excursion supported student understanding about the ways people, places and environments interact, as part of our Geography unit. This unique location gave students the opportunity to experience coastal bushland firsthand, participate in hands-on activities, and develop their geographical inquiry skills. A big 'thank you' to the wonderful teachers and parents who endured the weather so that this excursion could go ahead.

“Miss Provest has just completed the first leg of her pilgrimage for the Jubilee Year, spending an unforgettable time in Greece. One of the most moving moments was celebrating Mass with Father Jack in the open air. She’s looking forward to sharing her reflections and stories with the school community soon. Now, she is on her way to Rome to continue the Jubilee Year journey!

Spectacular Performance On Monday the Senior and Junior choirs performed at Captivate at Nagle College. The students have shown commitment through their hard work in preparing for the performances and we congratulate them on their spectacular effort. For some students this was their first time performing in front of a large audience. A big thank you to Mrs Kuchta and Miss Gunter for preparing the students in the choir.

From rainbow hair to cupcake, candy and everything in between, the styles were wild, wacky, and absolutely wonderful!
