Cheque for $40 000
In 2014 the Parents and Friends Committee of OLQP submitted an application to the State Government, through the "Community Building Partnership Program", for funds to improve our school environment.
We were successful in attaining a generous grant that will be used to establish a multi-purpose court. This area will be used by the Pre-School students, St. Paul's College students, local netball and basketball teams and a local Fitness Company (RAW 24) that caters for children and adults.
It is a much needed playground area for our Primary School students who will be using constantly for their sports programs. We would like to thank Mr Tony Issa MP who supported our application. Last Monday (9th Feb) he presented a cheque to our school for $40,000. We would also like to thank the State Government for their grant initiatives and our P&F, who submitted the application.

We're so excited to share that on Saturday, 4 July, the Art Gallery of NSW announced the winners of the Young Archie Competition. Christian was awarded the Young Archie 2026 winner in the 5–8 years age category! He was absolutely thrilled to receive the award and a little overwhelmed by all the media attention that came with it. We're incredibly proud of him and this wonderful achievement. 🎉🎨 Christian’s winning portrait is titled ‘My daddy’. ‘I have chosen my dad for my artwork because I love him and he loves me,’ Christian said. See all the Young Archie 2026 finalists for free on the ground level of our Naala Nura building until 16 August. #YoungArchie is proudly supported by Presenting Partner @anz_au

The OLQP Band took part in the Hills Band Performance yesterday, which was held at St John XXIII, Stanhope Gardens. The children should feel proud of their performance. They showed improved rhythm, technique and unity. The Band performed three songs: Ayre & Dance, High Hopes & Just Dance. They kept the audience entertained and engaged, and the Senior Choir were awarded a Silver award for their effort.

Huge congratulations and best of luck to Year 6 students Elyse, Olivia, and Zara, who are heading to Campbelltown this weekend (4th–6th July) for the Junior State Titles Netball competition! These girls have spent the months training twice a week and competing in carnivals to prepare for this big moment. They’ll be representing their team against the best from across NSW on the first weekend of the holidays. We are so proud of your hard work and dedication, girls! Play hard and have fun!

As part of our Winter Embrace initiative in support of the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal 2026, OLQP hosted a Vinnies School Sleepout. The Winter Sleepout gave the students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of homelessness and disadvantage by taking part in an overnight experience that raises awareness, empathy and solidarity with those doing it tough during the cold winter months. This was an overnight event which was held last Friday 19th June on OLQP school premises. During the evening, the students participated in a liturgy and a variety of meaningful activities that allowed them to deepen their understanding of the hardships faced by people experiencing homelessness in Australia during winter. Students also had the opportunity to work alongside students from St Paul's Catholic High School.
