The last few weeks have seen many great opportunities for our students to showcase and share their talents with the wider community.
Over 130 students took part in this year's Showcase with a great variety of acts including singing, jazz, tap and Irish dancing, hoola hoops, comedy, piano, guitar, violin and the Haka. A special mention must also go to our talented Staff members who bravely presented a 'surprise act" to the delight of the children.
We held our 7th annual Christmas Concert for the residents of our local nursing homes, grandparents and senior members of Parish. This event provides an opportunity for many of our students to create thoughtful gifts, Christmas cards and decorations which are then distributed to our special guests. It is also a chance for the three schools on our site to come together - OLQP pre-school, OLQP primary and St Pauls Catholic College. The students sang a varied collection of Carols which helped to spread some Christmas Cheer.
Our school choirs also presented a wonderful program at the Parish Festival of Carols on Sunday night.
We would like to thank all the children that took part in these events for their hard work and dedication and to thank you, their parents for your support.
Merry Christmas,
Mrs Grella & Mrs Mahony

ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY Today we celebrate the Feast Day of the Assumption of Our Lady when according to our faith, the Holy Mother, “having completed her course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory”. The Assumption signals the end of Mary’s earthly life and marks her return to heaven to be reunited with Jesus. While the bodies of both Jesus and Mary are now in heaven, there is a difference between the Assumption and the Resurrection. Where Jesus arose from the tomb and ascended into heaven by his own power, Mary’s body was taken up to heaven by the power of her Son. Hail Mary Mother of God. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
