Nathan Khoury from Year 6 competed in the ArtSport by Ray Rose Champions of the Future League, which is a Dancesport competition, held at Parramatta RSL Club, on Sunday 6th December, and successfully achieved placement in all 5 of his individual dance entries and a team event.
Nathan's interest in Dancesport (previously known as ballroom dancing) commenced and has evolved from OLQP's involvement in DanceFever in 2013. He attends weekly group classes as a fitness activity as it not only promotes health and wellbeing but also builds social skills with other participants and enhances his cultural and community experiences.
'I find it fun and engaging,' Nathan says. 'I really enjoy dancing and seeing my achievements as a result of my commitment to continuous practice. My growth shown through my assessments and competition performances is very satisfying,' he said.

What a great first week of BIG school for our Kindergarten students! 🌟📚 They have settled in so well and are already learning new routines and getting comfortable in their new classrooms. This week, they also took part in their very first sport lesson and they were so excited! 🏃♀️🏃♂️⚽ It was lovely to see so many smiling faces and enthusiastic participation. It has also been wonderful to see new friendships starting to form as students get to know one another. 😊🤝 We are so proud of how well they have started the year and can’t wait for what’s to come! ⭐✨

Young Archie, 2026 – Sharing Our Gifts Through Art 🎨 In our art lessons, students learn that creativity is a gift from God and that art can be a beautiful way to tell stories, express gratitude, and honour the people who shape our lives. We would love to invite our students to consider entering the 2026 Young Archie Competition, where children create a portrait of someone special to them. The Young Archie encourages students to look closely at others with care and respect — reflecting on relationships, love, and the people who help us grow. This aligns beautifully with our Catholic values of community, compassion, and seeing the dignity in every person.
