This year, OLQP participated in an extra Maths Program called Maths Olympiad. 30 000 students throughout Australia were participating in the challenge.

We really enjoyed the challenging maths questions we were given. All the children chosen were from Years 3 - 6. We trained for several weeks to prepare for the challenges ahead.

There were 5 different tests which included 5 challenging questions in each test. Our two highest scorers achieved 16 out of 25. A big accomplishment!

Congratulations to all the students who challenged themselves and were part of this Olympiad Team. A special congratulations to the following 5 students

  • Jai Foley and Vincent Lee who both scored in the Top 20%
  • Anthony Kanbour who scored in the Top 40%
  • Ray-Anthony Khattar and Coraly Anwen Penano who scored in the Top 50%

There will be a special presentation for the team in the coming weeks.

We would like to sincerely thank our wonderful FIAT team for their generosity in creating and donating the beautiful Easter baskets that will be raffled off next week. During Lent, we are reminded to reflect on the needs of others, especially those who are less fortunate. Easter is a time of hope, renewal, and generosity, and these baskets are a lovely reminder of the spirit of giving that this season calls us to embrace. Your kindness and willingness to contribute reflect the true meaning of Lent—thinking of others, sharing what we have, and spreading joy within our community. #faithinactioncspd

As part of our Project Compassion Initiative, our FIAT leaders will be running an Easter Raffle for all OLQP students next week (wk 8). This initiative is to help raise funds for those who are less fortunate than us. Tickets will be on sale every morning from 8:25am-8:45am on Area A. Our school leaders will also be available in the Kindy Learning Street for our Kindy students to purchase tickets. Ticket prices are $2 per ticket or $10 for 6. Your support through Project Compassion will help transform lives by bringing clean water, education, healthcare and opportunities to communities facing poverty and injustice.
