On Monday, 27 April, staff and students, together with Fr Paul and parents, commemorated the centenary of the landing at Gallipoli with a special liturgy. During this service we all stopped to remember those who fought for freedom, rights and peace in our nation.
To mark this special event we unveiled a special plaque in memory of all those who valiantly paid the supreme sacrifice of giving their lives so that we may live in peace. This plaque is set amongst 28 rosemary bushes, each representing one of the classes in our school.
The inscription on the plaque includes a quote from John's Gospel (15:13):
No greater love is there than for a man to lay down his life for his friends.
On the day children each wore the name of an original ANZAC and a cross with the name of each ANZAC was placed on our hill.

ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY Today we celebrate the Feast Day of the Assumption of Our Lady when according to our faith, the Holy Mother, “having completed her course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory”. The Assumption signals the end of Mary’s earthly life and marks her return to heaven to be reunited with Jesus. While the bodies of both Jesus and Mary are now in heaven, there is a difference between the Assumption and the Resurrection. Where Jesus arose from the tomb and ascended into heaven by his own power, Mary’s body was taken up to heaven by the power of her Son. Hail Mary Mother of God. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
